Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Gardens

Cee’s Fun Foto:  “This week the topic is Gardens.  Gardens comes in all shapes and sizes.  They can be of plants, flowers and vegetables or herbs.”

I include a couple photos of large gardens, followed by my small garden with some of the plants and flowers. There are quite a few Date Palms in my garden. They were shorter than me when I first planted them. Now they are taller than me.

On one side of the wall, you may find some nasturtiums in front of and in between the iceberg roses. By another wall, the bougainvillea plant is in full bloom. My jade plants had flowers for the very first time last winter. Roses are my favorite flowers. Other flowers do well in my garden also. My small garden gives me a lot of joy!

    • Thank you, Cee, for the theme! I could have a Garden Blog and won’t get tired of it…haha. My garden smile to me also, I just walk around it once this morning. Have some gardening to do this afternoon! Friday is our trashing pick up day. In our cities, they pick up all 3 cans on the same day!

      • If we end up moving to Georgia, I wonder if they would survive there? Do you have any tips on planting the palms. I notice you said date palms how are those different? I assume they’re smaller?

        • I bought them from Home Depot – Can’t remember how many gallons, but I paid $10 each. I look for healthy onew with 3 or 4 trees in a pot (I could barely see the trunk when small but I am good at picking plant). I planted them, added mixing soil and a good soaking. When they are established, they don’t nee too much water. Georgia should be south enough to grow!
