Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “motive.” Use the word “motive,” in any form, in your post. Enjoy! – Linda G Hill

I want to finish the trimming and planting in my garden before winter. What is my motive? I want to get it all done before September 14. That’s the day I go to Portland, Oregon, five days before my grandbaby is born.

I planted some flowers, but the heat wave returned and killed quite a few before they get rooted. I bought some more flowers. The rain clouds have drifted our way. I decided to replant them today.

I have neglected the Date Palm trees the whole summer because I couldn’t be in the hot sun. As a result, the eighteen Date Psalms were overgrown. I set a goal of trimming one a day. After trimming several, I was interrupted. Finally, the last few days, my motive of finishing the job got greater. I trimmed four trees in one day, three the next day, and two yesterday. There are four more to do.

My last job is to tidy up my office/family room. One month ago I decided to rearrange the furniture. I have books from three book shelves. I stacked up some and piled some on the couches. At the meantime, I decided to recycle or donate some of my books. There is a great motive to get rid of some books.  I simply have too many books. Now I’ll have to sort out the books that I don’t want to keep. I hope I can get it done next week.

I’m glad that going to Portland to meet my new grandbaby gives me a great motive to finish the gardening before winter. It also gives me a strong motive to tidy up my office before my trip.

Cee’s Share Your World – August 7, 2017

Cee’s Share Your World – this week’s questions and my answers:
  1. What was the last URL that you bookmarked or saved?

I signed up to take the Intermediate Customization course from Blogging University, WordPress. I didn’t learn anything that I’m not doing. But for inserting images, they recommend https://unsplash.com. That was the last URL I bookmarked. There are a lot of nice photos on this site. Here is an example:

  1. Do you believe in the afterlife?  Reincarnation?

I believe there is life after life. When I leave behind the gate of this world, I enter the gate that leads me to a better world where there is no more tear from my eyes, no more death, no mourning, no crying or pain. I will meet my loved ones who have gone before me.

  1. If you were or are a writer, do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?

I write many things. In the storage of my brain, there are short stories, poems, and novels. Currently, on this blog, I have been writing mostly short stories and poems.

  1. What inspired you this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I was in a doctor’s office waiting for my appointment. The magazine on top of the pile was WebMD. I picked it up, and started flipping and came across a short paragraph. Basically, it says that positive people are happier, healthier and live longer. Negative people are sad, have more aches and pain, and probably live a shorter life.

Wow! 500 Posts

Wow! I can’t believe it. I have made 500 posts! I started blogging in July 2011. But from July 2011 to September 2014, I did 12 posts and stopped blogging. I came back on July 29, 2016 and have been blogging almost everyday.

500 posts

Basically, I did 500 posts in less than one years. I have many interests – taking photos, writing, gardening, traveling, learning new things such as watercolor and poetry. Blogging is a good place for me to share my experiences with you. I’m grateful that I have made so many friends in this blogging community. Thank you for reading, like, and comment on my posts! You encouragement keep me going!

Thank you

Thank you for Your Support

Dear Friends,

I have been having trouble with my site link.

I made a slight change of the site link. The old link is now Inactive. My Gravatar is under my old username and I CANNOT BE FOUND under my old link or Gravatar.

My OLD link is    https://theshowersofblessing.wordpress.com

My NEW link is    https://theshowerofblessings.wordpress.com

You may click the new link and FOLLOW my new site again, or

A BETTER way to do is copy my old link and paste to your Reader – Blog Followed, when it shows up, click off the green following, it will turn blue – you UNFOLLOW the old link.

To have my new posts come to your Reader – copy and paste my NEW link and paste to your Reader – Blogs Followed, click on the blue Follow and it will turn green and change to Following the NEW link. Then my new posts will come to your Reader.

I spent three days to compile the profiles of the blogger friends who have access to my new link. They are in the following photos. I appreciate several of you contacted me and made the changes.

The blogger friends whose profiles are not in these photos, they couldn’t find me. I will try to contact them to let them know what happened to my link.

I could pay an annual fee for WordPress to redirect my site from the old to the new, but I will try to make my own contact I choose that option. My purpose is for my friends to be connected to my new link instead of being redirected.

Sorry for the trouble. Thank you, Miriam ♥*♥*♥*♥*♥*♥

Thank You, My Friends

My dear friends,

I just want to let you know how much I value your support, your love, and your interest in my family as well as the messages I post on this blog. I enjoy so much receiving your comments and having conversations with you, getting to know you and your life. Thank you for your “Likes” for my posts. It means a lot to me.

I took a four-day trip to visit Mercy and Will and came back on Tuesday May 16. Guess What notification I got from WordPress on Wednesday, May 17, 2017?

I will continue to try my best everyday to check on your posts. Even though I am not able to make comments to every post, I am interested to know how you are doing. I am proud to be in this community with you.

Miriam

Thank You – 2010 Followers! Hooray!

I want to give a huge THANK YOU to my 2010 followers.

I am thankful for this great and supportive WordPress Community. Even though I started my blog in July 2011, I was not sure what I wanted to do with it. From July 2011 to September 2014, I made 12 posts and had one follower.

In July 2016 I decided to make a go again, and I started on July 29. I was somehow ready but still wasn’t sure what to write about. I wrote poems, posted travel photos. Then slowly I participated in challenges. I made friends and had regular dialogues.

I felt more comfortable and wrote more of my personal and family stories. I was overwhelmed by the tremendous interest and support. The post about wishing to live close to my daughter, and the Love Letter I wrote to my daughter became the top posts which received 176 and 162 likes. You touched me by showing how much you care about me and my family.

There are about 20 friends who have been supporting me from the beginning when I returned blogging. You’re still supporting me. I want to show my special appreciation.

I also want to thank all 2010 of you follow and befriend with me during the last NINE months. You become a big part in my life. THANK YOU.
